Not often thought of for cell salts and homeopathic prescribing in general, the condition of the patient’s tongue in Traditional Chinese Medicine is of extreme importance in diagnostics. The tongue body color, shape, and coating all provide information about the state and quality of the patient’s vital fluids and organs, and levels of vitality (Qi), to name a few!

#3 Calc sulph

“look like half dry clay”

#4 Ferr phos

“inflamed, swollen, red”

#5 Kali mur

“white coating not mucus or slimy”

#6 Kali phos

“as if coated in yellow mustard with offensive odor from the mouth”

#7 Kali sulph

“yellow mucus”

#8 Mag phos

“clean with stomach pain”

#9 Nat mur

“burning blisters, and/or slimy with small bubbles on the edge.”

#10 Nat phos

“on back part like coated in yellow cream”

#11 Nat sulph

“dirty, brown-greenish, with bitter taste”
